Welcome to third grade! This is going to be an exciting year!

Homework- Your child will have homework every week on the nights of Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  Each Monday we will send home a newsletter listing homework assignments, weekly skills being taught, spelling and vocabulary words, as well as important news.  All homework assignments are to be turned in to your homeroom teacher the following day.  Homework completion will be for a grade. If there are any instances which result in your child being unable to complete their homework, please let your child's teacher know.  We do not want any child having to stay up late completing homework due to matters beyond their control.  It is also very important that you check all homework assignments.  This will allow you to see if they are understanding the material, or need more review prior to the assessment.  We will thoroughly teach that skill Monday - Thursday and Friday they will show what they know!  We will never assess a standard that we feel students are not ready for, so there may be times that assessments are pushed back.

Daily Communication- The daily folder is our means of daily communication throughout the week.  We will send home important announcements, notes for parents, daily papers, etc. in the front pocket of the folder.  It is imperative that you check the folder each day.  Please make sure your child brings his/her folder to school every day.

Graded Papers- Graded papers will be sent home in the front of the daily folder every Wednesday.  These must be CORRECTED, signed, and returned by Friday.  Your child will receive a check if not corrected or turned in by Friday, as well as each additional day until corrected/returned.

Conferences- We will be happy to talk to you about your child's progress at any time during the year.  Please contact the school office at 890-7705 to schedule a Zoom or phone conference.  At this time, all conferences must take place via Zoom or by telephone.  If at any point this changes, we will let you know.  Conferences will be scheduled before or after instructional time.
