Welcome to Mrs. Smalley's 1st Grade Class!

Hi! I'm Mrs. Angela Smalley, and I am thrilled to be your child's first grade teacher this year! I was born and raised in Michigan, but have lived in Mississippi for almost 8 years. I began my educational career at Eastern Michigan University, but graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Western Governors University. In the fall of 2016, I had the pleasure of completing my student teaching assignment in 3rd grade under the guidance of Mrs. Molly Gates at Center Hill Elementary. I was then hired on at CHES as a second grade teacher assistant before taking a first grade position at Overpark Elementary. This is my 4th year teaching and I enjoy doing what I love everyday!

I am married to my amazing husband, Jaron. We have four sons, DeNeil (18), a set of twins-Jared and Aiden (14), and Micah (9). Our oldest son recently graduated from CHHS and is currently attending Northwest. Our 3 younger boys attend Center Hill Schools, and we are all proud to be Mustangs! As you might imagine, having a house full of boys keeps me busy between school and all the activities they are involved in. However, in my free time I love reading, working out, cooking, and spending time with my family.

Here are a few things Mrs. Smalley loves: Sprite, hot chocolate, Twix, chocolate chip cookies, Mexican food, music and books!

We are going to have an amazing year in room B109 on the green hall. Whether you are a virtual learner or traditional student,  I am so excited you're part of our class family!

Please feel free to contact me through School Status, Schoology, email or school phone. You may also send a note to school in your child's zipper pouch.
